What is against the rules to say in-game?

When players break the rules, our priority is maintaining a fun and safe community. Instead of immediately banning or removing an account from the game, we usually issue a warning and Mute/Silence the account. However, for severe or repeated violations, we will skip warnings entirely and move straight to Disabling (Banning) the account.

Below are the official categories for offences that will result in a Silence. For more specific rules, detailed community guidelines, and recent changes, please refer directly to the official 2026 Silencing Policy Update.

Please note: It is impossible to list every single word or scenario that could result in a penalty. Community Managers and Moderators reserve the right to make judgment calls to ensure chat remains healthy.

1. Inappropriate Content

Posting or soliciting obscene, pornographic, excessively violent, harmful, discriminatory, or sexually explicit content. This includes trying to bypass filters or using emojis to construct inappropriate art, symbols, or messages.

2. Personal Information (Doxxing/Privacy)

Soliciting or sharing personally identifying information, whether it belongs to another player or yourself, in public channels.

  • Prohibited info includes: Last names, exact age (if under 18), home addresses, workplaces, schools, phone numbers, or third-party contact handles.

  • What you can share: You are allowed to post your own first name, gender, age (if 18+), city, state/region, and country. However, remember that once information is posted online, it cannot be taken back. Be smart and stay safe!

3. Underage Regulations & Solicitation

  • Anyone found to be 17 or under engaging in inappropriate solicitation, or anyone soliciting players under 18, will face an immediate account restriction or permanent disablement, respectively.

  • Campus Chat: If you are looking for or soliciting players by age in Campus chat, you must explicitly specify 18+.

  • Using coded terms, acronyms, or slang deemed to be a bypass for soliciting underage players will result in your account being permanently disabled.

4. Third-Party Content & External Socials

Posting links to external referral programs or sharing specific social media handles/links for third-party applications that are not officially created or approved by A Thinking Ape.

5. Bypassing Filters to Harass

Intentionally circumventing the game’s built-in chat filters to direct abuse, insults, or aggressive language at another player. While generalized swearing or casual bypassing is permitted if it isn't targeting anyone maliciously, directing it at individuals is not tolerated. "They are my friend" is not an excuse, if it is mean or aggressive, it is silenceable.

6. Harassment & Hate Speech

Posting messages or engaging in behavior that promotes hate, violence, discrimination, or intolerance against individuals or groups based on race, culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or organization.

7. Impersonation

Falsely claiming to be a Moderator, a member of the development/support teams (ATA staff), or pretending to be another player with malicious intent.

8. Spreading False Information

Deliberately spreading misinformation, rumors, or false accusations with the intent to mislead players, damage reputations, or disrupt normal gameplay and community peace.

9. Soliciting Media (Pictures/Videos)

Asking for or offering explicit photos, videos, or "nudes" in text, link, or emoji form. This is a game, not OnlyFans; selling or soliciting adult content is strictly banned.

10. Real-Money Trading & In-Game Transactions

Advertising, responding to, or facilitating the sale, trade, gifting, or sharing of game accounts. Furthermore, any transaction involving non-game currency (including real cash, digital gift cards, credit transfers, or cryptocurrencies) is strictly forbidden and will result in swift account action.

11. Encouraging Rule Violations & Trolling

Urging or baiting other players into violating the Terms of Use. This includes intentionally stirring up drama, creating chat disturbances, "flaming," or toxic trolling.

12. Spamming (Individual or Group)

Flooding the chat is punishable if it is done with the clear intent to disrupt the public feed, push down legitimate conversations, or harass others.

The Golden Rule:

Be a good person, do good things, and you’ll pretty much be okay.
